First Lutheran Church, Manchester, IA passed first vote to leave the ELCA, 197-56. Date of second vote not set yet.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Export, PA passed second vote to leave the ELCA, September 18. They have joined the NALC.

Trinity Lutheran Church, Birchwood, WI passed second vote to leave the ELCA, October 23, 88-20, and affiliate with LCMC.

IOWA CHURCHES SERVE NOTICE TO SYNOD THEY WILL VOTING ON LEAVING THE ELCA

First Lutheran Church, Manchester, Iowa has served notice to the Northeast Iowa Synod of their intention to vote on leaving the ELCA, October 30, 2011.

St. John Lutheran Church, Clarksville, Iowa has served notice to the Northeast Iowa Synod of their intention to vote on leaving the ELCA. Date not known. This is their second effort at a first vote to leave the ELCA.

RESULTS OCTOBER 9: CONGREGATIONS VOTING TO LEAVE THE ELCA

1. St. John Lutheran Church (Hopewell) Celina, OH passed second vote to leave the ELCA. Plan to join the NALC.

2. First Lutheran Church, Houston, TX passed second vote to leave the ELCA by vote of 86.9%. Plan to join the NALC.

3. Port Madison Lutheran Church, Bainbridge, WA passed first vote to leave the ELCA and join the NALC, 86%.

One has to look at the losses experienced by the ELCA since 1988 to understand the extent of people leaving. However the statistics printed below from the ELCA's own web site do not show the full extent of the losses they have suffered. Many congregations still count members on their rosters who left the ELCA long ago. And the information below does not reflect the losses for 2011.

RESULTS OCTOBER 2: CONGREGATIONS VOTING TO LEAVE THE ELCA

1. Mayer Memorial Lutheran Church, Newberry, SC, passed second vote to leave the ELCA, and voted to affiliate with the NALC.

2. Danevang Lutheran Church, Danvang, TX passed first vote to withdraw from the ELCA.

RESULTS SEPT. 25: CONGREGATIONS VOTING TO LEAVE THE ELCA

1. Principe de Paz Lutheran Church, Miami, FL ** was released from the ELCA by the Florida-Bahamas Synod at its September meeting.

2. Bethany Lutheran Church, Thompson, IA failed to pass first vote to leave the ELCA 70 to leave, 61 to stay.

3. Bethel Lutheran Church, Bemidji, MN failed to pass first vote to leave the ELCA. Vote count not known at this time.

4. Emmons Lutheran Church, Emmons, MN passed first vote to leave the ELCA 119-20.

5. Winnebago Lutheran Church, Lake Mills, IA failed to pass first vote to leave the ELCA, with 69 voting to remain in the ELCA and 25 voting to leave the ELCA.

6. West St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Hayfield, MN failed to pass first vote to leave the ELCA, 64 voted to stay-51 voted to leave.

RESULTS SEPTEMBER 18: CONGREGATIONS VOTING TO LEAVE THE ELCA

1. First United Lutheran Church, Hammond, IN passed second vote to leave the ELCA, 82-28. Also voted to join the NALC.

2. St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Creston, NE passed first vote to leave the ELCA in late July.

3. Hope Lutheran Church of Hubbard Lake, MI passed second vote to leave the ELCA (Sept. 11), 173-6. Voted to join NALC.

4. Messiah Lutheran Church, Lebanon, PA ** passed second vote to leave the ELCA. (date uncertain)

5. Bethel Lutheran Church, Battle Lake, MN passed first vote to leave the ELCA on August 7,(27-6).

RESULTS: CONGREGATIONS VOTING TO LEAVE THE ELCA, SEPTEMBER 11, 2011

1. Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys, OH passed second vote to leave the ELCA, 112-40. Joining NALC.

2. Glen Flora Lutheran Church, Glen Flora, WI passed second vote to leave the ELCA, 38-1. Voted by same measure to join NALC.

3. Faith Lutheran Church, Sturgeon Lake, MN passed second vote to leave the ELCA and join the NALC, 23-2.

4. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Kettle River, MN passed second vote to leave the ELCA, 35-8.

RESULTS AUGUST 28, 2011: CONGREGATIONS VOTING TO LEAVE THE ELCA

1. Shiloh Lutheran Church, Hickory, NC passed second vote to leave the ELCA and affilate with the NALC, 51-15.

2. Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rockwell, NC passed second vote to leave the ELCA, 118-1. By vote of 119-0 voted to dual affiliate with NALC and LCMC for three years.

3. Bethel Lutheran Church, Parkersburg, IA passed second vote to leave the ELCA. Voted to dual affiliate with NALC and LCMC.

4. Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, IA passed first vote to leave the ELCA on August 14, 64-29

RESULTS AUGUST 21, 2011: CONGREGATIONS VOTING TO LEAVE THE ELCA

1. Elizabeth Lutheran Church, Caldwell, TX lost its first vote to leave the ELCA, 66-101. The larger number voting to remain in the ELCA.

2. Hope Lutheran Church, Ladysmith, WI passed second vote to leave the ELCA, 107-9. Also voted to join NALC.

3. St. John Lutheran Church, Selby, SD passed second vote to leave the ELCA and join the NALC, 74-21.

4. Lutheran Church of Mahomet, IL failed to pass first vote (second attempt) to leave the ELCA 103-51-1.

5. Peace Lutheran Church, Baldwin, WI passed second vote to leave the ELCA, 112-7. Also voted to join LCMC.

6. Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Brackettville, TX passed seond vote to leave the ELCA and join LCMC.

1. Grace Lutheran Church, Monongahela, PA passed its first vote to leave the ELCA.

2. First Lutheran Church, Britton, SD passed second vote to leave the ELCA, 137-11. Will join LCMC.

3. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Manistee, MI passed second vote to leave the ELCA,118-6. Voted to join NALC.

4. Faith Lutheran Church, Faith, NC passed second vote to leave the ELCA. Voted to join LCMC and NALC.

5. Salem Evans Lutheran Church, Stony Creek, OH passed second vote to leave the ELCA and join the NALC. (Date of votes not known.)

7. Faith Community Lutheran Church, Longmont, CO passed second vote to leave the ELCA, 193-3. Voted to join NALC.
