Those who think the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will reconsider its decision to accept practicing homosexuals onto their clergy roster are going to be greatly disappointed. This past Sunday, July 25, seven homosexual clergy who had been rejected prior to August 2009 were welcomed with open arms in San Francisco. A new ceremony approved and adopted by the ELCA for such occasions was used. Other such "welcoming" ceremonies are planned for Chicago and Minneapolis in the coming weeks.
