Since the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) voted to sanction the homosexual lifestyle and permit practicing homosexual clergy to serve its congregations, many ELCA members are now looking for a new church, in which the message of salvation is rightly proclaimed and the Word of God is rightly taught. The same is true for discerning members of other liberal mainline churches that have likewise surrendered the true Word of God for a social-gospel mandate.
This tragic situation presents an opportunity for members of Bible-believing congregations to speak a word of welcome to this growing number of Christians who refuse to be part of such a gross violation of Scripture. As the opportunity presents itself, without judgment or criticism, invite them to worship with you in a fellowship of believers where they will be loved and their souls fed the pure Word of God.
