WISCONSIN CHURCH DIVIDES ASSETS

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Tomah, Wisconsin voted to divide the congregation's assets after the congregation was unable to attain the required 2/3s vote to withdraw from the ELCA. The smaller group, loyal to the ELCA, has formed a new congregation--Peace Lutheran Church. Gloria Dei, with the majority of the members retains the property and has been released by the synod. Gloria Dei is now affiliated with the LCMC.
