VOTING RESULTS APRIL 10: CONGREGATIONS VOTING TO LEAVE THE ELCA

1. ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, LA MOILLE, IL passed second vote to leave ELCA.

2. FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, PRINCETON, IL passed second vote to leave ELCA, 79-1.

3. SAMHOLD LUTHERAN CHURCH, GONVICK, MN passed second vote to leave ELCA, 100-40.

4. NORWAY LUTHERAN CHURCH, ST. OLAF, IA passed second vote to leave ELCA, 89-8. NALC

5. MARION LUTHERAN CHURCH, ELGIN, IA passed second vote to leave ELCA, 37-1. NALC

6. FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, CLEARLAKE, WI passed second vote to leave ELCA 129-23. LCMC

7. SAINT JAMES LUTHERAN CHURCH, GREENFIELD, IN passed second vote to leave ELCA, 95%. Voted to join NALC and LCMC.

8. CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, LEXINGTON, OH passed first vote to leave the ELCA.

9. FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, TROY, OH passed seconf vote to leave the ELCA, 78-3.

10. FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, ST. ANSGAR, IA passed first vote to leave ELCA 111-2.

11. ST. MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH, BUTLER, PA passed second vote 171-66. NALC

12. GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, (TROY HILL) PITTSBURGH, PA passed first vote 20-4.

13. ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH, COLUMBUS, OH passed first vote 126-1.

14. BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, PARKERSBURG, IA passed first vote, 98-42.

15. HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH, EVERLY, IA passed second vote. LCMC

  1. given the # of churches that have voted to leave I suspect it will not be long before the ELCA imposes new rules to make it harder for churches to leave and try and force them to stay in the ELCA and punish those that do.
