FOUR PASTORS SUE ELCA OVER ANNUITY CUTS

"The payments for retired employees "have really impacted people," said Vincent Escades, a Minneapolis attorney representing the pastors in their lawsuit. "They didn't live off much to start with in their positions. They lived pretty modest lifestyles."
The plaintiffs in the lawsuit are the Rev. Benjamin A. Johnson, Dr. Ronald A. Lundeen, the Rev. Larry D. Cartford and the Rev. Arthur F. Haimerl.

"It really matters to people who are living on fixed incomes," Escades said.

  1. Cuts for the Lutheran Malaria Initiative. Cuts for retired pastors. But the ELCA goes on funding its government lobbyists. The secular political activism goes on unchecked.

I wish the ELCA would simply declare itself to be a political party, and stop pretending to be a church.

  2. I couldn't have said it better. If they would simply drop the "Lutheran", and "Church" from their affiliation, I think we all would be better off. So many good people remain on their rosters because they just don't want to see the truth. I spent 10 years in a very good church, but had to leave when I saw the light...and the writing on the wall. I don't see how people can still support an organization that is so leftist, and yes, it has gone totally political. The saving grace of Jesus Christ is secondary or later in importance to "Social Justice".
